Brand Story
Allow me to share my story — one where a passion for art intertwines with a love of jewelry. I am Radka Petrásková, and I am the creator behind Emmé Studio.
The impulse to immerse myself in the creative process has accompanied me since childhood. By choosing to study at an art high school, I set out on a path of art and exploration of ways to give form to the many perceptions that surround us every day.
I graduated from the Graphic Design I. Studio at the Faculty of Art and Design of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University. However, I only partially identified with the profession of graphic designer. I missed a closer connection to material and the creative freedom I had long been used to during my studies. That longing led me back to myself and to the joy of authentic creation.
Through both fateful Love and a love for art, I enrolled in a jeweler goldsmithing course, inspired by the idea of making my own wedding rings. From the very first encounter, I fell in love with working with metal. I was captivated by the possibility of creating something that would endure for a lifetime — a tangible reminder of an important life occasion.
Finding a mentor who could truly guide me through the entire process of jewelry making was not easy. My first steps led me to a goldsmith’s workshop in Bratislava, from where I continued to a three-year apprenticeship program in goldsmithing and jewelry making. Returning to the classroom was challenging, as was meeting all the required curricula, yet the craft of jewelry making completely captivated me, and with time, my desire to deepen my knowledge and skills only grew stronger.
I eventually moved to the mecca of jewelry — Italy, where I studied at the oldest Academy of Jewelry Arts in Rome. This experience taught me precision craftsmanship, wax modeling, and stone setting using modern optical tools, where every detail and every microscopic element has its rightful place. It opened new horizons and offered me an invaluable perspective on the world of goldsmith jewelry art.
Over time, I learned to master every step of the creative process – from translating a client’s idea into a design concept, through the making of the piece itself, to its final stone setting. My artistic background allows me to bring together aesthetic sensibility with a refined sense of form and composition. What remains essential to me is the attention and care devoted to every detail.
In my work, I draw inspiration from ostensible imperfections, from the imprints of nature, and from the textures of dreams and other worlds. When transformed into jewelry, they become enchanting miniature worlds – spaces we can immerse ourselves in and discover something new each time.
