How does the process work?
Bringing in your jewellery: Bring us your old jewellery, whether it is broken, damaged or simply no longer reflects your style. Once received, each piece is carefully documented and sent for a professional metal analysis.
Metal analysis: In the laboratory, all items are melted into a single gold ingot. This is an irreversible process, as the original jewellery is permanently transformed. The ingot is then analysed to determine its exact composition and the amount of pure gold it contains. For example, 7.25 g of 14k gold (585) typically yields approximately 4.20 g of pure gold (999).
Trade-in value: The value of your gold is calculated according to the current market price of pure gold (999). At present, the value is CZK 1,550 per gram. In the example above, 4.20 g of pure gold has a trade-in value of CZK 6,510, which is deducted from the price of your new piece.
Creating your new jewellery: Many clients wish to transform a family heirloom into a new design. While we are able to incorporate the value of your gold, the original metal itself cannot be reused in its existing form. After refining, the result is pure gold, which is too soft for jewellery making. To achieve the strength, durability and colour required, it is alloyed with other metals to create 14k or 18k gold. Jewellery is cast in batches, meaning your refined gold becomes part of a new alloy alongside newly sourced or recycled precious metals.
